The one photo of PT-223 (supplied by Alex Johnson) - PT-223 running at speed in New Guinea. The 40mm that was installed on the foredeck by the crew after the boat arrived in New Guinea can be seen in the shot. The gun was located to the starboard side of the foredeck, which was unusual. |

The former PT-61 after being designated as an Air/Sea Rescue boat, a Crashboat. All of her guns, save for the two twin .50 caliber guns in the turrets have been removed. As a gunboat, she was armed with an additional six twin .50 caliber guns along both sides of the boat and two 40mm Bofors gun fore and aft.
